Italian Baked Lasagna

1 lb ground beef
1 clove minced garlic
1 tbs parsley
1 tbs basil
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 lb canned tomatoes (I like to use diced tomatoes)
2, 6 oz cans tomato sauce
10 oz lasagna noodles
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp pepper
1 lb mozzarella cheese


Brown meat and drain off fat, then add the next six ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Cook noodles in boiling water until tender then drain the water. In a separate bowl combine eggs, pepper and parmesan cheese. Preheat the oven to 375. Then in a greased 9×13 pan layer the noodles topped with some meat sauce, half of the egg mixture and cover with mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers (I can usually do about three layers but I only do the egg mixture on the first two). Bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Let stand for ten minutes then enjoy!

    dear itkwib lady: your lasagna recipe sounds first-rate. It also sounds familiar but enticing. We'll be sure to try it!
