Spinach Strawberry Salad

August 24, 2010
This is the perfect summer side! So light and refreshing.
Ingredients:

2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon minced onion (purple would be delicious)
10 ounces fresh spinach – torn into bite-size pieces
1 quart sliced strawberries
1/4 cup almonds, slivered would be best, but I just by bulk raw almonds and chop them up into pieces

Directions:

1. Whisk together the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Cover and chill for one hour.

2.In a large bowl combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Pour dressing over salad, and toss. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

I found that I did not need to add all the dressing to my salad and it was still amazing so next time I think I am going to half the dressing recipe and see how that turns out.

this looks like the recipe i fell in love with. it's so good. i have lately been lazy and buying poppyseed dressing at the store and then it's the easiest tastiest salad ever (not as good as the homemade dressing, but for the amount of time it takes, it's the bomb) I also toast my almonds and add feta.. mwa! magnifique
