Black Beans

Homemade black beans are sooooo good! I have no idea how to make a picture of beans look amazing, so here is my attempt. The only bad thing about making these is you better be on your game in the morning when deciding what you are making for dinner because they take at least eight hours in the crock pot.

This recipe is super easy. All you do is rinse your beans. Add some salt, pepper, onion, garlic and jalapeno if you are feeling crazy. Cover with lots of water and cook on high for at least eight hours.


3 cups dry black beans
1/2 onion – diced
2 garlic cloves – diced
3 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 jalapeno – seeded and diced
9 cups water


1. Rinse black beans and place in crock pot. Add all the ingredients. Cover and cook on high for eight hours. If the water gets low just add some more.
