Thanksgiving Menu Ideas

November 19, 2010

It’s about time everyone starts finalizing their Thanksgiving menus and heads to the grocery store. So I wanted to post some delicious ideas for your Thanksgiving feast.

First the appetizers! The food that makes you super full before the main meal, yet you still gorge yourself at dinner…at least I do. This White Bean Bruschetta tastes so fresh and the contrast with the goat cheese is amazing.
Oh course there is always the traditional Spinach Vegetable Dip. You can never go wrong with a good spinach dip.

Cranberry Meatballs…never a bad thing and kids can’t get enough!

Another all time favorite of mine, the Cheeseball. So easy to make.
These Chicken Bacon Ranch Pinwheels are another great hit with kiddos. These can also easily be altered and you can add your favorite toppings. For example, ham and Swiss cheese would be great, or turkey and cranberry if your are feeling festive.
Next onto the salads.  This Fruity Delicious Spinach Salad Andrea made a few weeks back at Tea and Tots was seriously one of the best salads I have ever had.
And for those who want a a different kind of spinach salad there is always the fresh Spinach Strawberry Salad.
Here is the super easy Italian Pasta Salad. Every time I make this someone asks me for the recipe.
Bring on the sides!!!! No Thanksgiving dinner would be complete without a delicious Refrigerator Roll.
And of course the Mashed Potatoes are a must.
Now if your husband is like mine he does not like the traditional sweet potatoes with all the yummy brown sugar and toasted marshmallows, so here is a great Sweet Potatoes and Apples or a Mashed Sweet Potato recipe.
And for your veggie side, the delicious Collard Greens…southern style.
Now onto dessert!!! You could try a Persimmon Cheesecake.
Or you could have some Caramel Apples. A good idea for an activity for the kids is to have them decorate their own caramel apple to enjoy.
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies!!! These are so addicting you may want to double the recipe.
Mini Honey and Strawberry Pies are bite-sized and very tasty!

Turkey Cake Pops are such a cute idea. And I am not lying when I say cake pops are life altering…SO GOOD!

To finish this list of Thanksgiving feast ideas is the super moist and filling, Carrot Cake.

I hope this gives you some ideas for your Thanksgiving menu this year! Happy cooking!!!!
