Sausage Breakfast Casserole

November 22, 2010
With the holidays right around the corner I’m sure many of you are having lots of family coming to stay! And what better way to show off you mad cooking skills then by making them a delicious breakfast casserole you prepare the night before! This casserole is super easy and very tasty.

First you get you sausage browning.

Mix up your eggs with milk and half and half.

Slice your french bread into cubes.

And mix them with your eggs.

Then stir in your cooked sausage and shredded cheese and pour into your baking dish. Cover, and chill over night.

Then next morning pop it in the oven and BAM! Perfection.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground pork sausage
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 eggs, beaten
3/4 cups milk
3/4 cup half and half
6 slices french bread, toasted and cut into cubes
8 oz Cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:

1. Cook sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat until evenly brown; drain.

2. In a medium bowl mix salt, eggs, milk and half and half. Add the sausage, bread cubes, and cheese, and stir to coat evenly. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours, or overnight.

3. Preheat oven to 350 F.

4. Cover, and bake 45 to 60 minutes. Uncover, and reduce temperature to 325 F. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until set. (Just a warning, it will look like it is cooked way before it actually is, so be sure you cook it long enough.)
